Book Review 1 - On the Front Line with the Women Who Fight Back, Stacey Dooley

This was most definitely a page-turner and I couldn't devour each story quick enough. Stacey tells the stories of women she has met all over the world,  mixed in with her own story of being there to make the documentary.  It is a really clever way to engage with some of the tough content that can be so difficult to digests and so far removed from what I know. Stacy anchors the content and helps you take on board the enormity of some women's terrible situations with a lense of friendship and compassion as you are lead to gain the wider picture.

While this is a page-turner and brilliant book it most certainly isn't comfortable. Reading some of the tragic stories of sex slaves, addicts, and prostitutes in some of the worlds most hostile environments while lounging in a bath with a glass of white wine is hard to reconcile. It is a provocative eye-opening read that will leave you with questions, leave you wanting to discover more about the world we live in and to learn to engage with differing opinions to your own, to discover where you stand and what you are going to do about it.
